Google to Buy Global IP Solutions (GIPS)

Google has offered just over $68M to acquire Global IP Solutions (GIPS), the creator of the free speech codec iLBC and the wideband speech codec iSAC. Both of these codecs are popular with VoIP equipment manufacturers.
