Google: Resistance Is Futile...

IM/VoIP services offered by Skype, Yahoo, and MSN Messenger have millions of users, but can't talk to one another. Google, however, says its Google Talk product is built on the sort of open standard that will eventually "federate" all the instant messenger and VoIP clients out there. — And they are entirely correct. XMPP works, is widely deployed, and can be easily deployed (with little or no cost) by any enterprise today.
