The VoIP market for hardware and software is led by Cisco, which had 24.3% share in the first quarter, according to Synergy Research Group. Avaya came in second with 23.4%. Companies looking to make a conversion in one fell swoop are likely to opt for what's known as an IP-only system offered by vendors including Cisco, Nortel, 3Com and others.
